Whether you have a HelpPay account or not, and even if you don't have the HelpPay app, you can still help someone else with their bill. You can pay or make contributions to someone else's bill and this is done through a link to their bill's payment page. This bill will need to be shared with you by the Customer via HelpPay.
Helping someone who is having trouble paying their bills, whether they are someone you know or a complete stranger, is now easier. You can learn how to do it by reading the information below.
Helping someone who shared their bill directly with you.
This can be done in two ways:
- Send you a shareable link to their bill through social channels via our Copy and share feature. If you don't have the HelpPay app, you will be taken to an online payment page that you can view through a browser. If you do have the HelpPay app, this link will open up this Customers bill within the Help Others section.
- Send you a request for help on their bill through HelpPay, this can be done via Ask a contact. You will be notified that this Customer has requested your help and see their bill within the Help Others section.
Paying through a payment page:
- Select the request for help link from the Customer and a payment page for their bill will open
- Add in the amount you would like to contribute and your payment details
- Add in your email to receive a receipt and you may add your name so that the Customer knows who has contributed. If you would like to stay anonymous, you can do that too, just leave the name field blank
- Select Pay Now to confirm your payment
Paying through HelpPay:
- Select the request for help link from the Customer or select Help (customer name) in your request for help email notification. The HelpPay app will open and you will see this Customers bill under Help Others
- Add in the amount you would like to contribute and your payment details
- Select Pay Now to confirm your payment

Helping through Facebook group:
- HelpPay has created the HelpPay Helping Community Facebook group so that those who are experiencing financial hardship may seek help from others who want to help.
- Members who are seeking help are uploading their bills on the page via a post and they also share some details as to why they are struggling to pay the bill. Helpers can click on the bill link that was shared and can pay it or contribute to the bill if they choose to help.
